  • Personal Info: O.D. Wilson, also known as "Nightmare," was an incredibly massive man and came very close to being the first American since Bill Kazmaier to win the title of World's Strongest Man. He lost in 1990 by just half a point to Jon Pall Sigmarsson. He did not actually have a traditional first name - he was simply "O.D." Outside of competition, O.D. spent 12 years in the military and worked as a bodyguard. On October 29, 1991, while being interviewed on a radio program, O.D. collapsed and died of heart failure. He was only 37 years old.
